Art City and the RWB Team Up to Make Some Art

Directors Josh Ruth and Eddie Ayoub had the opportunity last week to head down to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet with Art City participants. We joined them for an open rehearsal in the practice studio, where we were able to set up and paint the dancers.

Spending time painting live artists in motion at the RWB was fun and inspiring. Our participants learned more about expressing the creative activity of another artist through their own medium.

We are very excited about getting the chance to combine the worlds of Art City participants and RWB dancers-thank you so much to the RWB for having us!

The open rehearsal was a great success, and we are pleased to announce that this was the first installment in what will be an ongoing partnership with the RWB.

In July, Art City will be hosting the RWB students at our studio for a series of art workshops each week for the entire month.

This coming fall, RWB dancers will be doing a week-long workshop at Art City, exploring art making through motion with our participants.

Big thanks again to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and our good friend Jaime Vargas, for this excellent new partnership.
